~ MUSIC MINISTRY ~

Overbrook Singers
The Overbrook Singers provide the vocal leadership for the church. Adults, high school and middle school youth make up this choir that provides music for both the Contemporary and Traditional worship services. The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings starting at 7:30pm.

Praise Band
Overbrook’s Praise Band is a group of dedicated musicians who primarily provide the instrumental leadership for our contemporary worship each Sunday morning. We rehearse twice monthly and warm-up together each Sunday morning before worship.

Overbrook Ringers
The Overbrook Ringers have the distinction of being the first handbell choir in the Richmond area. The church is blessed to have 5 octaves of White Chapel handbells as well as handchimes. This group plays frequently for worship services and rehearses each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.

Kidz Praiz Handchimes
The Kidz Praiz Handchime group is comprised of 3rd-8th grade students. We learn basic note reading and lay a foundation for future handbell ringing by using handchimes. This group plays in worship about once each month and rehearses on Sunday mornings at 9:30am.

Kidz Praiz
On Wednesday evenings during the school year, as a part of our church-wide Wednesday evening program, children ages 3-5th grade experience music in age appropriate groups. We concentrate on music symbol identification, rhythm patterns, note patterns, etc. We learn scripture memory songs, play instruments, and play musical games. The children occasionally present either a musical offering during Sunday morning worship or an entire musical program on a Wednesday evening.

Additional Music Opportunities
Men’s Choir / Women’s Choir each sing about once per quarter. These choirs are open to all and provide a great opportunity to “try out” the music ministry.

Instrumentalists of all ages are involved in worship. Let us know what instrument you play and we will find a way to incorporate it into the music ministry.
